Comment and rationale:

Clarify whether validation is expected as part of traversal, i.e., verifying each credential or artifact as it is resolved, or whether it is left entirely to consuming systems. This would strengthen trust in derived query results without changing the core data model.

Proposed changes:

Define a recommended pattern for validating linked artifacts during traversal, based on signatures and associated proofs, while preserving the core data model. For example: "Implementations performing traversal of linked credentials SHOULD validate each resolved credential using its associated signature, status, and verification material before incorporating that credential into derived conclusions or query results."
